A working group on AI was held with the private sector

With the aim of building an ecosystem that promotes the development of Artificial Intelligence, the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology organized a meeting with companies in the sector in order to promote the adoption of this technology.
With the presence of the Secretary of Innovation, Science and Technology, Darío Genua, a meeting with representatives of technology companies was held this morning in Room 2 of the Cultural Center of Science (C3). The purpose was to establish a safe development that boosts the economy of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and promotes its application in various productive sectors, in accordance with an ethical framework, sustainable development and digital transformation.

"It is necessary to be strategic in the policies that we deploy as a country around AI, since today we urgently need to promote its development so as not to be left behind in a world that is moving rapidly in that direction", said Genua.

And he added: "Our country has notable development and immense future prospects in the sectors of agriculture, biotechnology, energy and the Knowledge Economy. In these areas, Artificial Intelligence constitutes a fundamental tool to enhance them, and the State must contribute by generating a framework that encourages this application."
The Working Group included the participation of the companies Meta, IBM, Google, Globant, Mercado Libre, Amazon Web Services, Worldcoin, Microsoft, Uber, NTT Data, Octupus and Sales Force. Representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the Central American Bank for Economic Integration and the Development Bank of America (CAF) also attended.
